Neighborhood Eats: Midtown

In many ways, Midtown is the heart of Atlanta. It’s literally in the middle of the wonderful neighborhoods of Atlanta and is home to numerous restaurants and pubs, historic spaces, museums, theaters, and parks. A lot of spots in midtown probably have a vegan options, but here are some of our favorites…
Cafe Agora
Description - Turkish, greek, and mediterranean cuisine
Vegan Options - Too many to list!
Our Favorite Dish(es) - Falafel salad
Comments - Awesome, low key, spot with insanely good food
Fresh to Order
Description - Chain restaurant in Midtown serving fresh food
Vegan Options - Lots of vegan options… they even have their own vegan menu!
Our Favorite Dish(es) - Black bean burger and lentil soup
Comments - A quick spot in Midtown great for lunch with co-workers

Cypress Street Pint and Plate
Description - Bar & grill with a great atmosphere and awesome patio
Vegan Options - pub salad, peanut kale salad, sweet potato fries, red bean hummus, red bean burger
Our Favorite Dish(es) - pub salad topped with red bean burger and sweet potato fries, plus the $3 house beer (sweetwater 420)
Comments - Cypress is more about the atmosphere then the vegan food but the options that they do have are solid

Kale Me Crazy
Description - Superfood cafe with juices, smoothie, salads, wraps, and coffee
Vegan Options - Basically everything minus a few of the salads and wraps
Our Favorite Dish(es) - Acai bowl, vegan wrap, and power iced latte
Comments - You can’t go wrong with KMC. Pretty much vegan paradise for a quick fresh meal.

Takorea
Description - A blend of korean and mexican cuisine
Vegan Options - See the menu… they have their own vegan menu!
Our Favorite Dish(es) - Tofu tacos… spicy and delicious! Bonus points if you go on taco tuesday for $2 tacos
Comments - This place is one of a kind and their food rocks.
Bezoria
Description - “An eastern mediterranean love affair”

Our Favorite Dish(es) - Vegan Sampler
Comments - This place is the chipotle of mediterranean food. Fast, inexpensive, good quality, good quantity.
Wagaya
Description - Sushi / Japanese Restaurant
Vegan Options - Four different vegan sushi options, as well as miso soup, green salad, wakame salad, and tofu salad. There are also a multitude of vegan tapa options like agedashi tofu & mochi and umeboshi onigiri.
Our Favorite Dishes - The vegetable tempura roll is the perfect balance of light rice with heavy fried sweet potato. The miso soup and green salad are classic appetizers that are done very well.
Comments - There are a ton of sushi / japanese places in Atlanta but Wagaya stands out from the rest because of the quality, affordability, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere. I never leave here unsatisfied.

Publik Draft House
Description - local bar with above average drinks and food
Vegan Options - falafel burger, apple walnut salad, red pepper hummus
Our Favorite Dish(es) - falafel burger and a draft beer
Comments - Similar to cypress, this spot is somewhere I go for the great beer selection and the atmosphere over the food, but the vegan options they have are delicious
Herban Fix Vegan Kitchen
Description - 100% vegan restaurant with an asian flare
Vegan Options - …. Everything
Comments - Herban Fix has only been open for about 4 months and in that short time they have already become well known in the vegan community in Atlanta… if you haven’t checked them out yet, get on it!

Fado Irish Pub
Description - Best Irish Pub in ATL with a lot of fun events
Vegan Options - red pepper hummus, garden beet and hummus sandwich, salads, and some awesome house chips
Our Favorite Dish(es) - the garden beet and hummus sandwich rocks
Comments - Irish food isn’t the most vegan friendly type of cuisine but this place has some solid options and the staff is helpful and accomodating
DaVinci’s Pizza
Description - Pizza & pasta spot
Vegan Options - They have daiya cheese so you can pretty much customize any pizza and pasta to be vegan
Our Favorite Dish(es) - Veggie deluxe pizza
Comments - This place rocks… go on Wednesdays for Trivia or order delivery if you don’t want to go out!
